Chicago Season 10 Episode 19 Preview
NBC’s high-stakes procedural series Chicago PD follows the personal and professional lives of the elite Intelligence Unit as they combat crime across the city. Fans may see a new side of Officer Kevin Atwater (played by LaRoyce Hawkins) as dad Lewis Atwater (Erik LaRay Harvey), makes an unexpected arrival.
In next week’s episode ‘Finish What You Started’, Atwater will once again be forced to take a trip down memory lane as his father returns to the scene.
The last time the estranged duo were face to-face was in episode 11, ‘Long Lost’, back in January.
At that point, Atwater was shocked to learn his father had been released from prison and living in a halfway house.
Although the two men reconciled, the promo for episode 19 hints at Atwater being taken aback to discover Lewis playing a mysterious role in a gripping case.
The action-packed teaser shows the team of officers investigate the disappearance of an 11-year-old boy.
As Atwater questions a potential witness, the unidentified woman informs him: “It’s one of the boys your father knows.”
To which a confused Atwater asks: “My father?”
The clip then cuts to the officer questioning Lewis, who then justifies his involvement and reveals: “I just help out the kids on the block.”
However, Lewis’ reason isn’t good enough for Sergent Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) who is convinced his involvement is more sinister.
As Atwater, Voight and Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) were seemingly on surveillance, the sergeant asks Atwater: “Why would your father be in that bar?”
With the potential of Atwater’s father becoming a person of interest, the promo has sparked major excitement among fans.

Throughout the series, Atwater opened up about his troubled upbringing and the tough motivation behind his work in law enforcement.
Atwater had previously shared his father and other family members were incarcerated while he was growing up, which scared him into staying out of trouble.
As a result, he became the legal guardian of his younger siblings Vinessa (Bobbi Mackenzie) and Jordan (Kylen Davis) who have both made sporadic appearances in the show.
