Christine Quinns Selling Sunset exit explained as Selling the OC airs

Christine Quinn is known for her role in Netflix hit real estate series Selling Sunset.

The glamorous estate agent donned luxurious, fashionable outfits throughout the show as she often became the centre of attention when drama brewed between the cast members.

Since Selling Sunset first aired on Netflix back in March 2019, the show has taken the streaming platform by storm with spin-offs including Selling Tampa and latest series Selling the OC which premiered on August 24.

Selling Sunset season five, which aired in April 2022, was one of the most explosive yet with a new agent, friendship drama, and a relationship breakdown in the mix.

However, Christine took the spotlight as she befriended Selling Sunset newbie Chelsea Lazkhani.

Chelsea, who is originally from London, attempted to mediate between Christine and the other real estate agents who have clashed in past seasons.

During the final episode of season five, Christine failed to show up to a disciplinary meeting at The Oppenheim Group's office in Los Angeles, leaving fans questioning whether the relator had left the brokerage.

The 33-year-old was asked to attend the meeting after it was revealed that Christine allegedly tried to sabotage co-worker Emma Hernan's relationship with one of her clients by offering them $5,000 (£4,247) to work with her instead of Emma.

Christine denied the accusation to People Magazine, stating: "Accusing someone of a criminal tort is not only defamatory — but you can't afford my lawyers.

"So it's not a funny thing to say. I would never bribe a client. I've never bribed a client. I don't need to bribe a client, because they'll work with me organically."

Christine was also notably absent from the Selling Sunset season five reunion show which aired on May 6.

The show was pre-filmed on April 25 and fans were quick to spot that Christine was not featured in the promotion pictures.

At the time, a source told Entertainment Weekly that Christine did not attend due to testing positive for Covid-19.

According to the source, the Selling Sunset star was offered to attend the reunion virtually but she refused as she was feeling too unwell to participate.

Shortly after the reunion show aired on Netflix, Christine confirmed to People magazine that she had quit The Oppenheim Group and Selling Sunset to open her own brokerage, RealOpen.

She said: "I terminated my contract when the brokerage launched.

"I had to make a business decision that was for me, so I had to terminate the contract so I could move it over to my brokerage."

The mum-of-one added that The Oppenheim Group's boss, Jason Oppenheim, knew about her new venture.

She said: "Jason knew. I told him. Him and I had had conversations a year prior. I told him I was doing my own thing.

"I don't think anyone actually thought…I think they thought I was bluffing; I don't think they actually thought I was working on a company, I don't know. But I told them for a year that I was working on this. Everyone knows."

Christine previously revealed in popular Spotify podcast Call Her Daddy that she received the biggest pay check out of all the cast members for starring in Selling Sunset.

She said: "I get paid the most. Jason as well. … My entertainment attorney, you know, basically [said] this is my value and I think it's all about recognizing your worth.”

It is currently unknown whether Christine will return to our screens for a new Netflix show starring her own brokerage.
