Corrie: Bernie Winter claims Dev Alahan ‘fancies’ her
Coronation Street viewers think they’ve worked out how Bernie Winter (played by Jane Hazlegrove) will avoid going to prison.
In recent scenes, fans of the ITV soap watched as the Weatherfield resident went to court after being charged for stolen goods.
On Monday night’s episode, the judge gave Bernie a custodial sentence despite her son, Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash), objections as he highlighted he was dying.
Later on, Bernie confessed to her children that she could be facing six months in prison, as Paul reiterated he may not live that long.
With Paul’s MND getting worse, viewers believe they’ve worked out how his mum will avoid being sent to prison.

However, others believe she may enlist the help of a former resident, and Bernie’s doppelganger, Fern (Gabrielle Glaister).

@CONN70D added: “I think they need to find that woman who looks like Bernie and pay her.”
Although there’s not been an official date for Paul’s exit, actor Peter Ash hinted it could be sooner than fans think.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain in October, the soap star revealed the cast have started filming their Christmas storyline.
He said: “It’s quite a sad Christmas really, for Paul. He finds out that he’s got six to 12 months left.
“So, it’s looking likely this could be his last Christmas.
“For him, it’s just making the most of every little moment and spending it with the family and kids.”
However, with Bernie more than likely going to prison, will she miss the chance to spend Paul’s last Christmas with him?
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
