Coronation Street icon Sean Wilson has admitted that the ITV soap "wasn't for him" after he left, although he hinted at a potential return.
The actor played David Platt's dad Martin, who left his son devastated when he left Weatherfield with his new girlfriend Robyn in November 2005, before returning in 2018, as David (Jack P. Shepherd) went through a shocking rape storyline.
Sean is an old-timer on Corrie, having first appeared on the soap as an 18 year old when he started working at the cafe owned by Gail Tilsley (MBE Helen Worth) who he went on to have two children – David and Sarah – with.
He was part of some of the soap's biggest storylines, including David's rape one and the one where his daughter Sarah got pregnant at 16 years old.

But since leaving Corrie, Sean hasn't been acting much, and he recently opened up to the Daily Express about why he decided to leave the soap.
He said: "I think my career in Coronation Street kind of ended where I think it found its longevity."
Sean continued: "It has finished there, otherwise, I'd just be completely repeating myself year on year on year which is [ok] for some people but it wasn't really for me."
He went on to say that he had discovered a love for food rather than acting: "I had such an overwhelming love for food, where it comes from, and the provenance [of food]."
But Sean didn't rule out a return to the cobbles if he got the chance and the storyline was right.
He said: "I made it clear back in 2018 that it wouldn't be possible for me to move forward with any kind of editorial improvement in my situation.
"You know what? The character was well-loved even when he went back in 2018. It's up to the powers that be."
Sean conceded that actors are "always looking for acting jobs," before appearing to suggest that the reason he gave up Coronation Street was due to being away from home a lot, as he said: "By the time you've paid for digs and travel, you don't come back with very much."
He went on to talk about his other passions, other than acting, as he now makes cheeses and has been an international judge of cheese shows.
He said that he had "made a poem" that "sums up exactly where I think cheddar is without having to hit people with a tonne of scientific information".
