Coronation Street recasts Jackson Hodge after six years as character set for return

Coronation Street have recast Jackson Hodge after six years as the character is set for a return, leaving Faye Windass in turmoil.

Viewers will recall that Jackson is the father of Faye's daughter, Miley, who she gave birth to in 2015 when they were both teenagers.

However, soon after Miley's Christening service, Faye struggled with being a young mum as the Hodge family offered to look after the youngster.

Initially, Faye's family disagreed with the idea but soon changed their mind when they realised the Hodges could give Miley a better life and future – with them relocating to Canada.

And in upcoming scenes, Faye, who recently confided in Sally that Jackson has made contact as he's back in the UK and wants to know if she wants to see Miley, is left in turmoil.

During the episodes, Faye agrees to a night out with her dad, Tim Metcalfe, after realising that she’s been avoiding him lately.

However, when her phone buzzes with a message from Jackson, she quickly covers…

And things go from bad to worse for Faye as later in the week Jackson calls at No.4, introducing himself to Sally and Tim as Miley's Dad.

Jackson explains that he and Miley have moved to the UK and he's been trying to get in touch with Faye – with Sally dropping the bombshell to Tim that Faye has been ignoring the messages as she doesn't want to see her daughter.

In the upcoming scenes, Joseph Evans will be taking over the role of Jackson after the character was previously portrayed by Rhys Cadman in 2015 before a quick return in 2017.

This isn't the first time Coronation Street has recast a character on the cobbles and in 2021 the hit ITV soap replaced Max Turner actor Harry McDermott with Paddy Bever.

Elsewhere, it's an explosive time on the cobbles next week as Daisy Midgeley's stalking storyline take another terrifying turn as sinister Justin's dark link to her mother Christina is revealed.

Only recently, Justin has been inflicting a terror campaign on Daisy after first meeting at hospital last year – and despite Daisy going to the police to report her stalker, they haven't taken her concerns seriously.

In upcoming scenes, Daisy meets her mum, Christina, for lunch but when her mother introduces her new boyfriend… Daisy is horrified to realise it’s Justin.

At the end of the week, Daisy psyches herself up for the Stalking Protection Order hearing – will Daisy get the SPO?
