Samia walks along the Coronation Street cobbles in the rain
Coronation Street’s Carla Connor actress Alison King has opened up on how her character feels when she finds out the truth about Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) and struggles to make the right decision.
Official spoilers reveal that during tonight’s episode, Carla opens the letter from the clinic confirming that there were traces of LSD in her hair sample.
She tells Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) that she thinks it was Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) but having checked the dates of her illness it doesn’t add up.
Carla soon works out what happened when Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) makes her a cup of tea and apologises for it being horrible as Stephen usually makes them.
She storms out and soon shares the suspicion about Stephen with DS Swain (Vicky Myers), but is frustrated when DS Swain asserts that it’s mere speculation and she needs proper evidence.

Carla becomes torn when DS Swain also tells her to keep it to herself, but questions whether to tell Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) over fears she is in danger.
Alison recently opened up on how torn Carla feels on wanting to warn Jenny but not alert Stephen in the process and told Express.co.uk and other press: “She loves Jenny.
“That is the first indication that Carla gets is when Swain says ‘Don’t mention anything to him, don’t do anything violent, don’t let him know you’re onto him’.
“And I say ‘Why is he dangerous?’ and that is the first indication, of course obviously then she jumps to the conclusion that Jenny is in danger because he has started a relationship with her.

“And she feels really really torn as to whether to tell Jenny, she doesn’t want any more deaths on her hands that she has already got.”
When asked if she thinks Carla knows how dangerous Stephen can be, she explained: “I don’t think she has an idea of just how dangerous he is.
“I think she thinks he is about all the money and the business and that he wants, he wants to get that at any means.
“But I don’t think she thinks he is particularly violent. She doesn’t trust him but I don’t think she knows that he could kill.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
