Coronation Street’s Todd Boyce has revealed some more details about how Stephen Reid’s storyline will end.
This comes after he promised viewers that the long-awaited comeuppance of killer Stephen will be ‘satisfying’.
And he’s now teased what it won’t look like – a familiar sight for some.
Stephen returned in June last year, after originally appearing in the series between 1996 and 2007.
His first departure saw him leave in a taxi, and he’s promised this time it won’t be the same.
Appearing on Friday’s This Morning with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, Todd explained: ‘They say that the most anodyne exit you can have is getting into the back of a cab, which I did last time on the Cobbles.
‘This time, I’m not leaving in a cab I can tell you that much.’
When Alison probed whether Stephen will be leaving in a ‘hearse’, Todd played coy, hinting ‘no’.
He added: ‘Some of the audience will be pleased with the result and some may not.’

Stephen, as viewers know, has claimed three lives since rocking up on the eponymous street last year and destroyed countless more.
The crazed serial killer’s days, however, are numbered, with next week’s outings of the ITV serial drama, which air during Super Soap Week, unmissable as his sins finally catch up with him.
Todd recently told Metro.co.uk that his character’s ending will be worth the wait, saying: ‘I think it will be satisfying with the audience.’
‘It’s hard to talk about without giving away too much detail but I think the audience will be pleased with it.
‘I hope people who have sense of who Stephen is, even if they don’t watch every episode [of Corrie], start tuning in now because it’s a fantastic Super Soap Week – it’s a different Super Soap Week. It’s thriller-esque.’
Coronation Street airs these scenes Monday October 9, Wednesday October 11 and Friday October 13 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
