Coronation Street: George admits to Eileen he hasn't slept
Coronation Street fans will be disappointed to learn that the hilarious working relationship between Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) doesn’t look like it will be restored anytime soon.
Spoilers released by ITV for next week’s episodes show that Todd is still continuing to wind George up about his replacement at the funeral home.
Although his name is Lee, Todd has christened him “Lurch” as he is extremely tall and the fact he is unable to keep his emotions in check gives him plenty of ammunition to rile George as they eat toast in Number 11.
However, the usually amiable undertaker actually takes umbrage at his remarks causing a further fracture in their already strained relationship.
Todd left Shuttleworth’s funeral home to go and work for their rival Rest Easy but he hasn’t found the transition smooth sailing.

He originally left as he felt that he was worth more money having won the Young Undertaker of the Year award, so was somewhat taken aback when he was so easily replaced.
The pair are also unable to avoid each other as George is dating Todd’s mother Eileen (Sue Cleaver) which has led to some awkward moments between the pair.
At one point they even came to blows but relations seemed to have thawed somewhat recently.
Todd even recommended that Shuttleworth’s perform Shelly Rossington’s (Natalie Amber) recent funeral.
He told Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) that they would be able to give her the send-off they wanted rather than his own company, however, George is unaware of this.

The recommendation was prompted in part by his discomfort at some of his new employers methods when it comes to organising people’s send offs.
Recently his new boss Troy revealed that he had promised a client a service that the firm couldn’t deliver and ordered Todd to break the bad news, leaving him annoyed at being expected to do the dirty work.
Clearly dissatisfied with his new role will the pair be able to put the events of recent weeks behind them and will Todd ever return to the job that he clearly enjoyed?
Coronation Street is on ITV at 8pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday
