Coronation Street spoilers reveal Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) will be making her debut on the soap next week, but how will her arrival impact her son Tyrone and her mother, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman)?
In future instalments of the ITV soap, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) shows Evelyn the schedule he’s drawn up for his dog Freddie’s care.
When she discovers she’s got Freddie while Roy takes Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) to a meeting of the Historical Society, Evelyn is less than impressed.
As Evelyn grumbles to Tyrone about Roy spending time with Yasmeen, Cassie watches – unbeknown to the two.

Later, Evelyn receives another call from the hospital but chooses to ignore it.
After much soul searching, she calls in at the hospital only to discover Cassie has discharged herself.
Evelyn returns home to be met by Tyrone who reveals that someone called Cath has come to see her.
She enters the living room and is horrified to see her daughter Cassie grinning at her from the sofa.

When Tyrone enquires how they know each other, Evelyn’s thrown into panic.
Mechanic Tyrone believed his mum was Jackie Dobbs (Margi Clarke) but when he delved into his family history in 2018, he learned he was adopted.
He later traced Evelyn for the first time and discovered evidence her daughter Cassandra was his biological mother.
It turned out Evelyn hadn’t trusted Cassie to look after Tyrone properly due to her drug habit and abandoned him at a police station.
How will Tyrone take the news that his mother is in fact alive and well?
