The Grim Reaper never seems to leave Coronation Street, and there is another grim twist as the remains of a dead body are found.
Ronnie and Ed Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan and Trevor Michael Georges) property development project hits the skids, when the building site becomes a crime scene.
Of course, the location of the corpse will be no surprise to hapless serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
He’s built up a number of bodies over the last year or so, and this site houses the remains of his very first kill, Leo.
Coronation Street cast and crew have been filming exciting scenes on location, which show Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) with his police mates.
Ronnie and Ed react with horror after making the gruesome discovery, and it seems like it could be the beginning of the end for Stephen.
‘The discovery of the body is the beginning of Stephen’s spectacular downfall, which viewers have been desperately waiting for,’ a source told Metro.co.uk.
‘After rumbling on for some time, these scenes will see it ramp up, but there is still a way to go before the end.
‘Stephen is a desperate man, and with it starting to fall apart, fans aren’t ruling out another kill or two before he is brought down.’
It’s certainly going to send Stephen into a tailspin; we have seen how he reacts with panic when on the cusp of losing everything.
And it won’t be the only body discovered in coming weeks, as scenes have also been filmed at a canal, with police and Corrie locals gathering to see another horrifying find pulled out.

It comes as Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) tracks shifty Stephen to the canal, where viewers know he concealed the body of Leo’s dad, Teddy.
Teddy had made it his mission to find out what happened to his son and soon enough he worked out that Stephen was to blame.
Stephen desperately tried to cover his tracks, before ultimately resorting to murder once more, killing the grieving father and getting rid of his body during a particularly dark night, using the rooftop box, which he loaded with heavy rocks, to sink the corpse to the bottom of the canal.
Grim, yet resourceful!
Tim, who has long been suspicious of him, will become Stephen’s next target, with earlier pictures from this week’s on-location shoot seeing the killer going out of his way to try and murder the taxi driver.
With all of this kicking off, hints have been laid that Stephen will have to make a desperate getaway, as actor Todd Boyce filmed scenes recently at an airport.
Recently, actor Todd hinted at how things would fall apart for his alter-ego – and it’s Stephen’s own fault!
‘We are going to see him start taking risks,’ he told us. ‘As he gets more desperate, his life is starting to unravel and it is going to be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure
‘He is bound to start making mistakes and that could be his undoing.’
Coronation Street will air these scenes over the next few weeks.
