Coronation Street viewers were left convinced Summer Spellman will never leave Weatherfield after she confessed to cheating in her exams.
The troubled teen used cards given to her by Aadi Alahan to try and ace her A-levels in a bid to get a place at oxford university for the autumn but fell into troubled waters during Friday's (June 10) episode.
But her plan was foiled when she dropped the cards on the floor in full view of the teachers supervising the examination room.
Summer and Aadi were then called in front of the headmistress to explain themselves over what had happened – with Aadi attempting to take all the blame for the deceptive action.
However, Summer wasn't happy to let her former love interest fall on his sword for her and insisted that she had to tell the truth about what she had done.
Fans of the show then took to Twitter to comment on her future as they confessed they felt she would never leave Corrie's cobbled streets – much to their disappointment.
One viewer posted: "Does anybody in soaps ever get to Oxford? I take it Summer will end up in the Factory!"
Another wrote: "That's the end of Summer going to Oxford. We will have to put up with her misery for much longer now!"
A third offered: "I hope this doesn't stop Summer going to Oxford-I for one, could do with a break from her constant whining."
Another social media user tweeted: "Well, Boris Johnson went to Oxford and he’s one of the biggest liars in the country to my knowledge, so perhaps Summer may get into Oxford after all?"
A fifth noted: "Strange how when Summer left the exam room to take her " medication" none of the students didn't see the trail of cards whiles she was walking with the Teacher."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
