Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out how Peter Barlow will leave the ITV cobbles this Christmas.
During Friday’s (November 24) visit to the ITV soap, viewers caught up with the beloved character as he struggled to come to terms with killing cobbles killer Stephen Reid. The fan favourite started the day by paying a visit to Carla in Underworld but it didn’t take long before he stirred up trouble.
After bringing his wife her packed lunch, he couldn't help but ask why she was paying Seann and Bernie but not the rest of her employees in the factory as they bounce back from the vile businessman’s theft. It was at this point that her co-workers demanded payment too after listening in to their conversation.
But his trouble didn’t end there, after he reunited with his son Simon who revealed that Dylan and Mason had stolen a box of vape pens from him when his back was turned. The doting dad immediately jumped into action and stormed over to Dylan’s house.
After spotting the pair inside, Peter kicked the door down and threw Dylan against the wall and demanded him to return the stolen items. Luckily, Sean returned home just in time to break up their fight.
It was at this point that Peter ran home and broke down in floods of tears to Carla and confessed how badly he was struggling to come to terms with his actions last month. Now viewers believe they have worked out how the hunk will leave the show.
Peter admitted that he couldn't help but replay the devastating moment he ran over Stephen with his car. He pleaded: "It plays on repeat every time I open my eyes. The only break I get is when I go to sleep but then its back again when I wake up."
It was at this point that Carla suggested that Peter visit a counsellor to talk through his feelings and forgive himself. But the hunk quickly wrote that off and admitted that he was toying with the idea of draining a bottle of whisky.
Taking to the social media site X – formerly known as Twitter- fans shared their suspicions online. One user penned: “Ole Pete will relapse and get sent off somewhere to rehab. Pete’s exit sorted. Next! #Corrie.”

Another agreed: “Peter not getting done for killing a serial killer. He’s gonna leave the street going to rehab because he can’t get over it #Corrie.” A third echoed: “#Corrie Peter needs counselling.
A third gushed: “Oh no I can’t cope with Peter Barlow crying [five crying emojis, four heart broken emojis] this is breaking my heart [four crying emojis] #Corrie.”
