Corrie killer Stephen Reids double life exposed as hes mugged on soap

Stephen Reid looks set to have his double life exposed when he’s mugged on the cobbles of Coronation Street.

In shocking scenes the killer, played by Todd Boyce, will be mugged while doing a shift as a pizza delivery driver.

As you can see in our exclusive snaps, he is targeted by three lads in broad daylight and it causes a big drama.

And to make things even worse, it happens just as his lover Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) is walking by.

Stephen is desperate not to be seen working as a delivery driver as he’s told her he’s a successful businessman.

But when he speeds off to avoid being spotted by her, he crashes.

Fans can see what happens next when the scenes air this autumn.

So far Stephen has already taken one victim on the cobbles – Jenny's boyfriend Leo, who grappled with Stephen on the roof of Underworld before being tossed into a bin.

But actor Todd has told Daily Star that the "ease" of the murder could see him become a serial killer.

He explained: "Probably like everyone in the world, I’ve spent my life thinking the worst thing you could possibly do is be the reason for someone dying.

"We were filming a scene the other day with police cars outside Underworld and Carla calling Stephen over, and he's thinking, 'Oh my God…'

"He started to cry, because that's natural and he's so alone with his secrets. I think he definitely feels guilt – he’s not a killer, he just happens to have killed someone."

But that's not where the storyline ends, as Todd continued: "Someone was joking in the green room the other day – another actor’s character had killed someone and they said, 'Once you do one, you kind of get a taste for it.'

"I think it might get easier, and he’ll be able to cope with it. But at this point because I’m just taking this journey, I’m just going to go as I would play it and see how toughened he gets.

"I think he’s capable of just killing more people and going on and doing that. It’s like a gambler – the further he’s in, the further he digs the hole."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
