Acting legend Jodie Prenger has been speaking about her fears of being axed in Coronation Street as Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) murderous storyline continues.
Jodie plays Glenda Shuttleworth in the show. She is the sister of George (Tony Maudsley), works alongside the likes of Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) in the pub, and also runs the Little Big Shotz performance group.
Corrie’s most dramatic storyline right now is Stephen’s reign of terror. Now responsible for the death of three characters, Stephen is a man on edge and could kill again for the fourth time at any point.

Reflecting on the plot so far and her character’s involvement, Jodie Prenger has admitted that she knows Glenda has never liked Stephen – which doesn’t put her in a safe position going forward!
‘Glenda has never liked him – ever since he took that £10 note! She clocks it, doesn’t she? I think Glenda goes on a gut reaction and I don’t think she thinks he’s good news’, she told Digital Spy.
Pondering over the vast difference between Stephen Reid and Todd, who plays him, Jodie said: ‘But the sad thing is, [in real life] he’s one of the nicest people! Everybody asks that. When you’re talking about what’s going on, they go: “Oh, what’s Stephen like?” He’s just the nicest guy, he really is.’
She laughed: ‘Of course it’s a worry – because you don’t know what’s going to happen! Imagine if he gets me? Everyone would have to say: “Glenda was right!”.’
Suffice to say that time is starting to run out for Stephen Reid. With Todd being pictured filming scenes at an airport, and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) certain there’s something sinister about the businessman, it’s only a matter of time until the truth is exposed.
But just how many more people will Stephen murder in the meantime?
