Coronation Street: Ed’s dad Sarge arrives
Coronation Street’s Ed Bailey will have to deal with a huge backlash from his family this Christmas as the truth about the burglary will come to light. Viewers have seen Ed (played by Trevor Michael Georges) stumble back into his old ways as his gambling addiction has resurfaced again.
The builder has managed to keep it a secret from his family so far but they will finally discover what he’s been up to all of this time. Ed’s friend Tony gets fed up with having to wait for him to pay back the debt he owes him and so he forces himself into the family home, punches Ed and takes all of the Christmas presents.
Although Ed tells his family it was a random burglary, his secrets won’t stay secret for long as his loved ones are set to find out the truth. Craig Tinker (played by Colson Smith) calls at number 3 and admits they’ve been unable to trace the burglar.
Joel Deering (Calum Lill) calls in at the builder’s yard and tells Ed that he’s got a wealthy client who’s looking for a decent and honest builder and he’ll put in a good word for him.
Sean Tully (played by Antony Cotton) and Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) present Ed’s son Michael (Ryan Russell) with a wendy house for his daughter Glory.

The pair explain how they all clubbed together to buy it from a pawn shop for his daughter.
However, things start to unravel for Ed when Michael is surprised to realise it’s the exact same wendy house that was ‘stolen’ from the Bailey household.
Michael tells Craig about the wendy house and Craig promises to look into it for his pal.
Since arriving in Weatherfield four years ago, ITV fans have learnt that the Baileys had lost their previous home due to Ed’s gambling addiction.

Over the past few years, he’s managed to keep his demons at bay, but his addiction reared it’s ugly head again when his brother Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) decided they should go back into business together.
Viewers previously saw Ed gamble away £1,000 of his son’s money and borrow some cash from his friend Tony (Sean Cernow) to fuel his addiction.
Coronation Street fans will have to tune in this Christmas to find out how the family reacts when they find out the truth.
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV1.
