Gogglebox star speaks about Dancing On Ice rehearsal
Dancing on Ice’s Matt Evers has revealed he will not be returning for the new series of the ITV show.
The professional skater has been part of the show since it first began back in 2006 when he was partnered with EastEnders star Bonnie Langford.
Matt has skated alongside a range of celebrities during his time on the show and even was part of the first same-sex pairing alongside Steps star Ian “H” Watkins.
Earlier this year, he took to the ice with soap star Patsy Palmer where the couple were eliminated fourth in the competition.
However, it looks as though that was the last time fans would see Matt on the show as he’s announced he’s stepping down.

Speaking about his decision, Matt said: “I have some news to share. I knew this day would come at some point but I won’t be returning to Dancing On Ice this series.
After 15 series of the show it was sadly time to hang up the skates for now.I have loved every minute of it (honestly!).
“I’ve had some incredible partners over the years and we have created some fantastic TV moments.
“I mean who can forget that fall from Gemma (Collins), or the wardrobe malfunction from Pamela (Anderson). And I was honoured to make history with H as the first ever UK same sex televised partnership.”

The 47-year-old continued to add that he’ll miss every person on the show, from those in front of the cameras to those behind it and all of the loyal fans.
He continued: “But of course, I’ll be watching and commenting – which I can now be totally 100% honest about so watch out – haha.”
This is the second blow Dancing on Ice has faced for its upcoming series next year as Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to quit.

A Dancing on Ice spokesperson said: “Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due to an injury he sustained to his ankle during training.
“He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery.”
It’s not yet known who will be replacing Stephen alongside the likes of Amber Davies, Ricky Hatton and Claire Sweeney.
Dancing On Ice will return to ITV and ITVX in 2024 for a nine-week run.
