DANNY Dyer is worlds away from EastEnders as he's engulfed in flames in an explosive first trailer for his new drama, Heat.

The 45-year-old actor quit his role as Mick Carter in EastEnders last year and bowed out in a dramatic Christmas storyline.

Now, Danny's first acting role since leaving Walford is coming to Channel 5.

Heat unfolds on the backdrop of a looming Australian bushfire when two families who are long-time friends, venture to a secluded home for a summer vacation.

As secrets and lies unravel it becomes a tinderbox – and not everyone will make it out alive.

The trailer sees Danny's character and his family arrive at his friends impressive, huge modern home.

While they're seen toasting "friendship" one minute, the next sees Danny catch his wife and friend in what appears to be a compromising moment.

His friend is heard saying: "Whatever you think you saw, you're mistaken mate."

But then things take an explosive turn as the bush catches fire around them, leaving the characters scrambling to locate each other and make it out alive.

The drama will play out across four episodes and sees Danny star alongside Neighbours actor Richie Morris, Olympia Valance, Darren McMullen, Jane Allsop and Pia Miranda.
