Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) recently had a surprise in Emmerdale when she took a pregnancy test and found out that she is expecting a baby.
Billy (Jay Kontzle) was overjoyed at the news. Although he’s a devoted dad to Dawn’s son Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall) and to the couple’s adopted daughter Clemmie (Mabel Addison), he’s long wanted a child of his own.
After they got married, Dawn agreed it was something they could think about but it was clear that she wasn’t as keen as Billy.
Then she met Clemmie. The little girl had a hard start in life as her mum (dawn’s former best friend) was a drug addict who had died, leaving Clemmie in the care of other drug users who didn’t pay the little girl much attention and left her to sleep in a dog bed.

Billy had some initial reservations about Clemmie joining their family and part of that was that he felt it would push the issue of having more children even further down Dawn’s agenda as she focused on caring for the vulnerable child. Since she became part of Billy and Dawn’s family Clemmie has settled in a lot, but it’s difficult for her to trust people as she always had the feeling that people would reject her.

They know they’re going to have to be very sensitive in the way they break the news to Lucas and especially Clemmie. As it’s Clemmie’s birthday they decide to concentrate on giving her an extra special day, after which they’ll break the news.
As usual in Emmerdale, though, things don’t go quite according to plan and the couple soon find themselves dealing with a crisis after the news comes out in a chaotic fashion. Clemmie’s reaction is far worse than they ever expected – and the consequences could be catastrophic for Dawn.
