Denise Welch shut down by Loose Women co-star in clash over Meghan and Harry

Loose Women: Panelists discuss new Royal book

Denise Welch and her Loose Women co-star Sue Cleaver clashed on Wednesday as they discussed Omid Scobie’s new book which centres around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Denise has always been a big supporter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and told her co-stars she would always be on their side.

However, Sue disagreed telling the ITV presenter there shouldn’t be any sides.

When asked whether she will be reading the new book titled Endgame, Denise nodded and said: “It’s on my Christmas list and I will read it.

“You know, listen, I think that we know enough about this guy and how much or how little he actually knows Meghan and Harry, but we certainly know which camp he falls in.

“And it is the same camp that I fall in, so I have always been a very outspoken supporter of Harry and Meghan, you know, and I’m sort of outnumbered on… not necessarily this panel but certainly on this show and generally.

“So I think that I will be reading it, I will be aware that some of it is his take only, but I think I will be more likely to believe more about what he says in this book than maybe some people would.”

“We just naturally end up taking sides, don’t we, Sue?” Christine Lampard asked as the soap star replied: “I find it interesting you talk about camps, which camp you’re in, and it’s like, I don’t think we need to be a camp.

“Because the trouble is with humans we all have our own reality and whatever we believe, we seem to think is the truth and let’s be honest, none of us know what’s going on in there.

“We will find things that fit our narrative. So isn’t it more important that we don’t choose to be in a camp?”

“I like being in a camp, Sue,” Denise chipped in as Sue fired back: “Sometimes there is just no hope for people, is there?

“I think that’s the problem. It’s like, the more we fuel this, the more we give our opinions, the more we’re adding to the flames, aren’t we of what is going on? None of us know what’s going on. It’s just…it’s a family matter.”

“It’s none of your business,” Linda Robson went on as Sue agreed: “Well yeah.”

“The press are obsessed with it,” Denise pointed out. “We are talking about it today.”

“You should know better than to take sides,” Sue fumed back.

Viewers at home even noticed the tension between Sue and Denise after their disagreement, and many took to social media to share their thoughts.
