Suranne Jones on possibility of there being Doctor Foster 3
Doctor Foster featured Bertie Carvel as the titular character’s husband Simon Foster and he teased a potential return one day.
When asked whether there will be more of the popular BBC series he told Express.co.uk and other press: “Not that I know of but never say never, I think.
“I imagine Gemma and Simon are still alive in that universe, in that version of the multiverse.
“And if they are not in one, they will be in another.”
The psychological thriller aired back in 2015 and ran for two seasons, coming to an end in October 2017.
A future third series was initially played down by lead actress Suranne Jones, who played doctor Gemma.
At the time she told Digital Spy: “I’m very busy next year – my whole year is booked up until December 2018.
“I don’t see where we could fit it. [Writer] Mike [Bartlett] has also got a million-and-one amazing projects, so I’m really happy that we all did what we did, and then we’ve moved on.

“I’ve signed up for three very different projects – a theatre project, a film and a TV project – so I’m just not sure that… unless you’re talking 10 years’ time? But I can’t think that far ahead.”

He told Express.co.uk how he had a heartbreaking personal connection to the series.
He explained: “A big personal connection in the first series for me was grief because I had recently lost my mother.
“I was able to channel that, work through that to some extent. Another great privilege of being an artist is you get to put your own life… there’s a very porous membrane between the two.
“That was a big point of connection for me in as much as I followed that personal story on.”
