EastEnders’ Clair Norris is worlds away from Bernie Taylor with cocktail on holiday

EastEnders fans are used to seeing her looking dressed down as Bernie Taylor in Albert Square, but actress Clair Norris went for a totally different glam look on a holiday night out.

Bernie is usually in comfies as she works at Kathy's cafe in the BBC One soap, so Clair who plays her looked worlds away from the day job in some fun snaps from a trip to Malta.

Sharing a photo on Instagram, Clair, 24, sipped a litre cocktail at a bar in Malta and posted a clip of her clinking glasses of a smaller cocktail, too.

Clair had let down Bernie's usual ponytail and wore her hair long and wavy, with glowing, dewy make-up and a red dress for her night out.

She's previously posted other photos of herself indulging in a cocktail, including at one of The Shard's bars while she took in the view over London.

The star has some experience on the other side of the bar, too, as EastEnders scenes earlier this year saw Bernie compete for a job at the Albert by making cocktails for Jay's stag do.

Fans of the soap had the chance to see a different side to Clair last year when she presented a Panorama episode called Obesity: Who Cares If I'm Bigger?.

In the documentary, Clair met health experts and talked about her own experiences of school as an overweight teen.

She cried as she said: "This is probably where the name-calling would have happened I don’t say it’s bullying that’s my own personal thing.

"I don't remember specific names, I don't remember it clearly, but I suppose if it happens every day it just kinda blurs into one. My mum will remember more."

Clair's mum added that for years, her daughter had just accepted people making fun of her weight and calling her names.

The soap star also said: "What I've discovered is that mental health does play a big part and I don't think I even realised, it wasn't me just going home eating food, that wasn't me just eating, it was me getting out my stress and my anger.

"Eat my feelings, eat my feelings, they'll go away."
