EastEnders has revealed the date for Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) funeral, following her tragic death earlier this month.
The popular character died after a battle with a brain tumour, passing away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) were heartbroken in the aftermath, with both doing everything they could to support Lexi (Isabella Brown) as she comes to terms with the loss of her mum.
Preparations are now underway for Lola’s funeral, with Monday’s (June 12) offering of the BBC One soap confirming that the service will take place on June 27, after Ben received a call from Reverend Mills.
Instead of a wake, however, Lola requested a barbecue in the Square, with Ben relaying this information to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), reminding her that Lola was always ‘more of a party girl’.
Filming of the party, which is entitled Lola-fest, took place earlier this year, with Metro.co.uk having seen pictures of what’s in store, with balloons aplenty.
Music will be enjoyed and laughs will no doubt be had, as Walford’s finest come together to honour and remember their beloved Lola.
Jay, who was absent from tonight’s offering of the show, has been struggling to come to terms with life without Lola.

When asked at the British Soap Awards about what’s ahead for Jay – and if he would ever find love again – actor Jamie Borthwick told Metro.co.uk that he didn’t know, but added that he’s got a chat with Chris Clenshaw, EastEnders’ boss, to discuss the future.
‘I’ve had scenes with other females but nothing of any value in that way. He’s not getting [into a relationship] with them.’
EastEnders continues Tuesday June 13 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
