Bullmastiff Staffordshire Terrier cross Cyrus, known to millions as Bronson from his time on EastEnders, is in desperate need of a life saving operation.
Cyrus hit our screens in 2017 when he arrived as the Taylors’ family dog by the name of Bronson. He was killed off in emotional scenes in 2021 when the family were advised to have him put down after he fell ill.
As well as sharing scenes with his on-screen family, he was also seen with the likes of characters Kush Kazemi and Denise Fox.
In real life, Cyrus belongs to Caroline, who has launched an online fundraiser in the hopes of raising the £20,000 required for treatment that will be ‘100%’ effective in saving Cyrus’ life.
It comes after a brain tumour was discovered on Cyrus a few days ago. Caroline told The Sun that it's now a "race against time" to save her beloved dog.
She said: "The thought of losing him is heartbreaking. It’s utterly gut-wrenching. He has been suffering seizures but I was told they were nothing to worry about. I asked for a second opinion and we have been given this shocking diagnosis."
Caroline has already spent all of her existing funds on tests and getting the diagnosis, but it's unfortunately not enough.
"He has been suffering seizures but I was told they were nothing to worry about. I asked for a second opinion and we have been given this shocking diagnosis," explained Caroline.
She says she knows the treatment "doesn't come cheap" so is asking people for help. Cyrus' owner has been calling out to fans of EastEnders for help.
"It’s terrible. In Edinburgh is a gold standard radiotherapy which would shrink the tumour and uses more high-tech equipment than is available locally. Of course it doesn’t come cheap. But I’d just urge people for help," Caroline said.
Fans of the BBC soap were left teary eyed as they witnessed Bronson's death unfold in 2021. The dog was taken to the vets after being sick, and the Taylors soon learned he was seriously unwell.
The vet had suggested the best thing for him would be to put him to sleep and told mum Karen and stepsister Bailey that the dog was struggling to breathe. Bronson's ill health was due to his age.
The dog had been with the Taylors ever since they moved to Walford in 2017.
Caroline has called out to fans of the BBC soap to help save her dog, and £10,000 has already been raised, but it's still a long way to go to reach the £20,000 needed for the treatment.
To help Caroline pay for Cyrus' treatment, you can donate to the GoFundMe page here.
