EastEnders fan favourite is returning to Walford after six years away – and viewers will love it | The Sun

IT’S been six years since she was last in EastEnders and now two decades since first arriving in Walford, Yolande Trueman is back.

Hot on the heels of Ian and Cindy Beale’s return, the popular character, played by Angela Wynter, is coming home.

Yolande will reappear on the BBC1 soap this summer after spending the past 15 years in Birmingham.

A TV insider said: “This will be a huge thrill for EastEnders fans as she is considered something of a favourite among devotees.

“She’s just one of several characters making a return to Albert Square and though she might not be as high profile as Ian and Cindy, she will certainly get just as rapturous a reception from veteran viewers.”

Yolande’s character remains connected to Walford having first appeared on the BBC1 show in 2003 as the love interest of Patrick Trueman, played by Rudolph Walker, before later becoming his wife.
