EASTENDERS fans have predicted a shock romance for Alfie Moon after Kat Slater rejected him.
Alfie – played by Shane Richie – returned to Albert Square on the day of ex-wife Kat’s wedding to Phil after Bert and Ernie stole her phone and text him.
Kat was less than happy to see her ex-husband, especially when her intentions became clear and he begged her to reconsider marrying Phil.
However, the pair ended up getting stuck on a boat together -meaning Kat missed the wedding ceremony – forcing her and Phil to set a new date.
Despite Alfie still holding a candle for his former spouse, some EastEnders viewers think he could be in for a shock romance with another Walford resident in the mean time.
Discussing the storyline on a forum, one fan thought they saw a spark between Alfie and Sharon (Leticia Dean).

They wrote: "Why didn't I think of it before. They got on well tonight.
"Sharon and Alfie could be great in the Vic once mick goes. Alfie with his scheming like dirty Den. Sharon like the old days. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes arguing, always putting on a show.
"I really don't want them to regurgitate Alfie and Kat or Phil and Sharon."
Another added: "This could be a good idea. I’m bored of the Kat/Alfie and Sharon/Phil on/off relationships.

However, Shane, 58, recently revealed it was another female Walford resident that Alfie could get close to.

He told The Sun Online and other media ahead of his return: "Alfie still burning a candle for Kat and he's trying to convince Kat that she feels the same.
"But now between us lot… Alfie and Linda that’s all I’m gonna say. But is Alfie using Linda to get to Kat?"
