EastEnders fans were absolutely delighted by the reappearance of Last Di, the Carter family’s dog, who hasn’t been on screen in quite some time.
The beloved pooch was taken for a walk by Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) during Thursday’s (September 1) edition of the BBC One soap.
Fans were thrilled by her impromptu comeback, and thus they wasted little time in voicing their joy on social media.
‘LADY DI IS STILL ALIVE,’ exclaimed one stunned Twitter user, while another added: ‘Love to see Lady Di out for her annual walk.’
One also wrote: ‘Lady Di having her first walk in 6 years’
Lady Di, who made her debut in 2013 alongside her owners, featured heavily in a number of storylines over the years – particular during the Carter clan’s superb earlier years in the show.

From 2019 onwards, her appearances have been more sporadic, and she wasn’t seen at all during Mick and Linda’s seven-month relocation to 29B Albert Square between 2020 and 2021, which left fans at the time concerned for her wellbeing.
Lady Di also missed out on Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) bizarre and out-of-character affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood) which took place around then, and all we can say is lucky her.
She made her return to screens in May 2021, when she was seen on a walk with Nancy (Maddy Hill).
As far as Metro.co.uk knows, she hasn’t been seen again since, thus making tonight’s episode her first in over a year.
Here’s to hopefully many more!
EastEnders continues Monday September 5 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
