Viewers of EastEnders have speculated on the futures of Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and seem to have come to an agreement on the couple’s date with destiny and it’s all down to the actions of Scarlett Butcher (Tabitha Byron). Janine’s daughter hid an incriminating photo of her mum in a Die Hard DVD case and fans believe it’s a huge hint into when her mother’s scheming will be exposed.
Fans of the BBC soap have a theory for when one of Albert Square’s all-time greatest villains will bow out once again from the soap.
Tuesday’s episode saw Scarlett find a photo of her mum on the night of her and Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) car crash.
The young Butcher family member was seen pondering what to do with the photo which showed Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) on a night out with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) and decided to hide it in a drawer with the iconic action movie case.
In the background of the photo is Janine disposing of some blood-stained clothes, which disproves Janine’s alibi that she was not in Walford when she crashed Linda’s car and left her for dead.

After the placement of the photo in the DVD case in the Carter home, Walford Weekly Podcast tweeted: “So the Janine reveal will be Christmas! ‘Die Hard’ is definitely a Chrimbo film in Mick Carter’s gaff!”
Steve Oliver added: “Hiding the photo in the Die Hard dvd sleeve means it won’t be discovered until Christmas.”
Mark tweeted: “….And when do people watch ‘Die Hard’….? So basically the Janine thing is going to explode at Christmas?”
Toby agreed: “OMG scarlett put the photo of janine in the dvd case of die hard which is a christmas film… I’m so now thinking Mick or someone is gonna find it on Christmas day!”
Alessia penned: “Oooh so Scarlett put the picture of Janine in the die hard dvd box….when’s the next Carter family viewing going to be?”
Sue summarised: “She’s put it in the Die Hard case. That’s the #EastEnders Christmas episode sorted then…” (sic)
Die Hard is often debated as to whether it is a Christmas film or not, perhaps EastEnders will finally lay that argument to rest with a huge feature in this year’s Christmas special.
Three months is a long time in Walford, but particularly with the Carter household.

Despite there being almost a year of torment from Janine to Linda, it looks like there will yet be more chaos until the festive period.
Last Wednesday, Janine tried another tactic to destroy the spirit of her love rival Linda.
Mick’s ex-wife has declared her love for her former husband but was heartbroken shortly after.
Keen to share some good news after deciding to keep her baby with Mick, Janine gleefully announced to the Queen Vic she was pregnant, to a full pub and a distraught Linda.
Fans’ assumptions about the timing of the storyline’s climax are enhanced by the fact Danny Dyer revealed his character Mick will be leaving the show this December too.
Danny has played Mick Carter since 2013 when he made his entrance on a Christmas Day episode.
On his departure, he recently told Jaime Winstone on her podcast Greatest Night Ever: “Let me tell you something now – Mick’s exit is going to be a very, very powerful thing.
“I would love the door to be left open, and as far as I know, it is.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
