EastEnders fans think they have figured out who is killed in this year's special Christmas episode after a flashforward clue on Monday showed a dead body.
In a BBC One soap first, fans were shown a 2023 flashforward scene on Monday of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon ( Letitia Dean ), Stacey ( Lacey Turner ) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) faced with a dead body.
In the moments that unfolded at the Queen Vic, the group of women all stood round in shock in a festive-looking pub and looked down at a man lying on the floor.
Not much was said between the six of them, but Stacey was covered in blood, Denise was holding a smashed bottle of Champagne and Sharon wore a bloodied wedding dress as she leant over the body, confirming the person was dead.
However, it’s unclear whose body it is and what’s happened to them…
But this hasn't stopped soap watchers from speculating who it could be and viewers have predicted that it could be Nish Panesar.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "It's Nish. I'm telling you right now, Nish is dead."
A different account put: "It’s either Nish or Dean. Baddies always get their comeuppance on or around Xmas day."
Another follower wrote: "I’m going with it’s Nish Panesar."
A different viewer said: "I think it’s Nish, but my God waiting till Christmas to wait to see who it is isn’t fair."
While another soap watcher added: "I think it's Nish…"
However, some fans think it could be Dean Wicks as only recently Linda's world was rocked when she received a photo from Carly Wicks of Shirley Carter with Dean.
Linda was left devastated as she discovered that Shirley had been in contact with her evil rapist son Dean, who raped Linda in 2014, as she was sent a picture of Shirley with her children.
One eagle-eyed fan noticed that the camera panned in on Denise's initial "D" necklace as they speculated whether that was a clue for Dean.
The soap watcher tweeted: "They focussed on Denise with her “D” necklace for a while… I think that’s one of the clues. Dean."
While a different account added: "I think it’s Dean. He goes for Linda (hence the split lip), the others get involved and one of them kills him. I also don’t think the champagne bottle is the weapon."
It comes as Executive Producer, Chris Clenshaw, teased: "As we saw in the flash-forward scene, there are six women stood over a dead body, which we know is male. Over the next ten months, expect to see each of these women have huge stories, involving potential victims, which will all collide at Christmas."
The EastEnders boss added: "I’m not going to give anything away that the episode hasn’t already given, but what I will say is there were clues in there. Did you look closely? I urge everyone to re-watch the scene and look at every detail.
"There’s also a few treats in the scene if you look hard enough. What I’d also say is that a lot can happen in Walford between February and December – circumstances can change, relationships can change, loyalties can change – so what you may suspect now could be somewhat different as we make our way through 2023 and head towards Christmas."
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
