Strictly Come Dancing has already begun to take its toll on Nigel Harman, the EastEnders and Casualty actor has revealed.
Opening up to OK! and other publications at the Inside Soap Awards, where he took home the gong for Best Drama Star, Nigel, 50, revealed what he's been finding difficult about dance training.
He told us: "Just teaching my body how to move again in all sorts of crazy ways, that's been the hardest thing. And just getting the message from there to here."
Nigel revealed that the stress has even caused him to lose some weight, telling us that he's "lost a few kilos" in just the first few weeks of training.
Nigel found fame playing doomed Dennis Rickman on EastEnders 20 years ago and has since starred in Casualty as Max Christie.
Following the announcement that he would be taking part in Strictly, Nigel revealed that he would be leaving Casualty, telling press: "I left at the beginning of August and I’m on screen until the end of February, with no plans to return at the moment."
"I dedicate my life to sweating and feeling anxious!" He quipped, after sharing the news.
And prior to the Strictly launch, Nigel confessed that training had been tougher than he thought it would be.
He explained: "It’s a little bit overwhelming like being fired out of a cannon and you’re not sure where you’re going to land and hoping it’ll be safely and sometime soon.
"At the moment, I feel like I’m chasing my body down the road going ‘come back!'"
And although he may have found dance-training a rather stressful experience, Nigel's hard work appeared to pay off as he finished top of the leaderboard on Saturday night.
He and dance partner Katya Jones scooped the top score of the evening with 32 points after being the last to perform.
Following Nigel’s impressive performance, which saw him perform a Paso Doble to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, the judges were quick to heap on the praise with Craig Revel Horwood, telling the actor: "I wouldn’t want to be in a competition with you around. That was the dance of the night!"
And Aton Du Beke shared a similar sentiment as he added: “To come out with that power and that intensity, you stole the show!”
