EastEnders: Sonia cries at the hospital
Reiss Clowell (played by Jonny Freeman) turned up in Walford last year, and soon a spark ignited between him and EastEnders stalwart Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy).
The matching came as a welcome change for unlucky-in-love Sonia, and when it was decided he would move into her house, she was delighted to be sharing her life with someone again.
However, fans of the BBC soap know Reiss isn’t as perfect for Sonia as he seems.
He recently made a secret call in hushed tones asking to speak with his wife, but nothing more has been revealed about his double life.
In upcoming episodes, Reiss is forced to win Sonia over after he upsets her by not realising her birthday is coming up.
Rocky Cant (Brian Conley) suggests the pair get to know each other properly – will Reiss’ hidden life finally be exposed?
In scenes set to air, Sonia gets her wires crossed with Reiss as he plans a big party that she thinks is for her birthday.
She’s thrilled someone is making her feel so special, and she tells Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she’s not been cared for like this for a long time.

However, when Reiss returns and starts talking about the party, the penny drops that he meant to celebrate King Charles III’s Coronation, not her birthday.
The Albert Square nurse becomes increasingly fed up with Reiss’ Coronation party talk as he enthuses about the big day.
Things are made worse when Rocky makes a big romantic gesture for Kathy and Sonia feels neglected by her partner.
She confides in father figure Rocky, who suggests she and Reiss need to get to know each other better.
Will Sonia start up an important conversation with her boyfriend?
Rocky later clues Reiss in about why Sonia’s fed up with him, and he ends up going overboard to celebrate her birthday.
Sonia will likely be thrilled by his efforts, but will her happiness be short-lived?
It seems only a matter of time before the popular character realises she can’t trust Reiss as well as she believed she could.
EastEnders continues on Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
