Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) is set to have her heart broken in EastEnders once more, this time courtesy of Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), who is using her as a pawn in his game.
Ravi, as viewers know, is being investigated by the police in an investigation which is being headed up by none other than Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
The restaurateur had no idea that he was the subject of such an investigation, until Denise Fox (Diane Parish), who he nearly embarked on an affair with, informed him last week.
Denise had been hoping that by relaying this information to Ravi, it would make him back off, but it ultimately had the opposite effect, with the criminal deciding to blackmail her into helping him get his hands on the police files.
Denise, however, refused to be blackmailed and therefore told Ravi to try a different course of action, and that’s exactly what he does, as he begins to target Chelsea, hoping to get what he wants from her instead.
Actor Aaron Thiara confirmed that Ravi is simply using Chelsea to get the intel he needs, and that he doesn’t care if she gets hurt in the process.
‘This is all a motive for survival’, he told Metro.co.uk.
‘If that means breaking someone’s heart, then so be it. He wants to progress things with Chelsea but not all the way. He’s using Chelsea as a pawn to get to Denise, so he’s testing the waters of how far he needs to go to get the information from her.
‘Everything is surface level between Ravi and Chelsea, and behind that is a plan. Ravi has just bared his soul to another woman and he got scorned, so I don’t think he’s allowing himself to feel any kind of deeper attraction at this point.’
Chelsea has no idea Ravi is using her, with things becoming more complicated next week, as Ravi manages to invite himself along to the family games night as her plus one, much to Jack and Denise’s horror.
‘Games night is full of layers and interesting looks,’ admitted Aaron. ‘Ravi is trying to play the role of being the best partner to Chelsea in front of her family, but under this he is being very deceptive in his actions to wind Denise up.

‘To be honest, Ravi is having a ball of a time because he knows that Jack is investigating him, and he knows that Jack doesn’t know he knows.
‘He also knows that Jack doesn’t know about him and Denise. There are so many different games that Ravi is playing but he is enjoying being in the firing zone because he has all of the cards.’
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
