AN EMMERDALE boss has teased a new relationship for much-loved former couple Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield.
The former couple's love story began when viewers saw sparks fly in 2017, becoming official in 2018 before splitting two years later when Vanessa found out that Charity had cheated on her with newcomer Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb).
Now in different directions, the ITV soap producer Jane Hudson confirmed they will "always care for each other."
Jane told Metro.co.uk: "Vanessa and Suzy’s relationship is still relatively new, and for a new relationship they have had to deal with a lot of difficult issues.
"I think it’s only right that we allow that relationship a chance to develop and to explore the future holds for them.
"I think Charity has made it very clear that her feelings are for Mackenzie and they’re reciprocated and they have a lot going on as well, especially with what Noah has recently been up to.

"I think Vanessa and Charity will always have feelings for one another and always care for each other and, they also have their children to think about as well, who some would argue are like brothers.
"So there will always be some warmth between them."
Charity recently revealed to partner Mack that she was pregnant.
Even though it took her a while to adjust to the discovery, they wanted to have the baby.

However, things take a turn when Charity experiences excruciating pain, leading her to collapse in the kitchen.
With Mack looking after Moses and discussing fatherhood with Moira, he is completely unaware of Charity’s situation.
Charity’s pain is the result of an ectopic pregnancy, and that there is no chance the baby will survive.
When Mack eventually finds Charity, there is "blind panic peppered with denial", actor Lawrence Robb said.
"He definitely will have felt a sense of responsibly on the entire thing.
"He will have known that Charity at that point will be in pain as a result of his actions, but the optimism, or hope, I imagine will have blocked a lot of those feelings out."
How will the couple cope after this devastating news?
Emmerdale airs every weeknight from 7.30pm on ITV.
