Emmerdale fans took to social media following Wednesday’s episode pleading with the soap to “kill off” one major character.
Despite Caleb Milligan (played by Will Ash) knowing it was Nicky (Lewis Cope) who pushed him, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is the police’s main suspect.
It is unclear whether Caleb will let Mack take the fall for Nicky’s crime, but one person who has turned against the farmer is Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).
As Mack arrived home from the police station, Chloe was packing her bags to leave.
“What are you doing?” Mack asked as Chloe simply replied: “I am leaving.”
“You weren’t going to leave me a note?” Mack asked. “Chloe, what about us?”
She hit back: “There isn’t really an us anymore, not ever since you made it clear saving your own skin is more important than your son.
“You wanted me to lie for you. What happened if they found out then I’d be charged too, what would happen with Reuben?”
“Chloe I didn’t do it,” Mack insisted. “You’ve got to believe me.”
