Emmerdale fans were left confused on Wednesday night during a scene with Chas Dingle and her daughter Eve.
Only recently, Chas was supposed to join husband Paddy Kirk at a hotel where he was attending a conference with their daughter Eve.
However, Chas pretended that her car had broken down and she had booked a B&B for her and Eve nearby so she could secretly meet lover Al Chapman in a luxury cottage he had booked for them as a secret getaway.
While Eve slept, Al started cooking Chas a romantic meal before the couple decided to go upstairs, where Al later told Chas that he loves her.
The next day, and home from her secret getaway, Chas was seen chatting to her daughter Eve in Cafe Main Street, where she kept repeating that they had an "adventure".
She said: "Fancy that, the car breaking down on us but we had a fun night, didn't we? Just the two of us on our adventure…"
However, viewers were left baffled as Chas spoke to Eve in a pram as the youngster, who is meant to be nearly three, made gurgling noises and didn't talk back.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "How old is Chas and Paddy's Eve supposed to be? I'm thinking 2 at the very least. So why do they use 'newborn' sound effects for her? By that age kids don't need baby monitors, the "MUMMMMYYYY!" at the top of their voices usually does the trick! #emmerdale."
Another follower pointed out: "Eve was a two year old running around last week, now she’s back in a pushchair talking baby language #Emmerdale."
A different viewer said: "Why does Eve sound like a little baby she’s nearly 3 #Emmerdale."
Another follower wrote: "Eve is 3, why have they got her sat in her pram sounding like a baby #Emmerdale."

A different soap watcher put: "Last week Eve was sitting up in a chair drawing pictures looking about 2. Now she's reverted back to a babbling 8 month old. Make up your mind #emmerdale."
However, one viewer had a theory for the scene as they speculated: "I think #Emmerdale bosses have turned Eve back into a baby for a bit so they can hit us with a plot twist when she's 3 again next week and telling daddy what mummy's been up to."
