Emmerdale viewers were left gobsmacked as Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) married Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) in dramatic scenes.
Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) heard about Nate trying for custody of his daughter Frankie during Monday's (July 3) episode of the ITV soap.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) later jumped into action when they heard that Nate was heading down to the town hall.

The pair were left gobsmacked when they spotted Tracy in a wedding dress standing alongside a handsome stranger.
With Nate nearby, Cain and Moira assumed that he was getting ready to ruin Tracy's big day.
They kidnapped Nate and took him back to the village where they learned the truth.
A furious Nate told them that it was him who Tracy is marrying and that they've been back together in secret for two months.
Viewers at home were left baffled by the twist.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "It was NATE’S WEDDING DAY!? Tracy was marrying Nate in secret? didn’t see that coming?"
Another added: "Wasn't expecting that twist omg."
A third person said: "Nate and Tracy are married?"
As a way of apologising Cain and Moira quickly contacted vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) and he held a small ceremony for the happy couple.
Speaking about her return to the soap after maternity leave, Amy told Daily Star: "It's lovely to be back.
"I popped back last year for the 50th and that was short but sweet but now I feel like I've come back and never been away.
"It just feels so normal for me to be here.
"It's lovely being back with Jurell [Carter, who plays Nate Robinson].
"The hair and make-up team are like sisters to you and I've cried on the chair a few times already due to exhaustion or dropping my child off to nursery and coming in in tears.
"It's like a family and seeing everyone is lovely.
"You do lose touch a bit with good friends when you're away but it has reminded me how close we all are."
