Emmerdale fans certainly seem to think so, with a number suggesting that their wedding day may not end happily – or even happen at all.

Happily ever after
Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk's relationship has been years in the making, with the two going a lot together in the time since.
Rhona is currently helping Marlon recover after he suffered a stroke earlier this year, and fans were left in tears after Marlon delivered a heartwarming speech at their engagement party in Thursday's episode (July 21, 2022).
With the two having been together through happy times and sad times, fans are hoping that it will be a happy ending for the two as they embark on their nuptials.
One said: "That Marlon and Rhona scene, I am in pieces. Such a beautiful relationship, built over so many years."
A second added: "Best scene in ages from Rhona and Marlon, while a third commented: "About time some happiness for Marlon and Rhona."
However, other fans do not think that Marlon and Rhona's wedding day will end in happiness for the couple – with viewers discussing a number of theories about their future on social media – including affairs and shock returns.
Paddy Kirk affair
Long before Rhona was in a relationship with Marlon, she and fellow vet Paddy Kirk were an item.
Although the two decided to go their separate ways, the couple remained friends – but will it always stay that way?
Rhona has been growing closer to Paddy in the run up to her and Marlon's wedding, with fans speculating if feelings may be rekindled between the two.
The chemistry seems evident to viewers too, with one saying: "Which one was Rhona with to start with? Can't remember if Paddy or Marlon?"
A second added: "Rhona has an affair with Paddy. Paddy marries Rhona."
Could the wedding day see Rhona marry a different person? Only time will tell.
Wedding day drama
If Marlon and Rhona do make it down the aisle, things may not go alright on the day – with Marlon actor Mark Charnock teasing a bumpy road ahead for the couple.
Speaking to Radio Times at the British Soap Awards 2022, Mark teased that wedding day drama could be ahead, saying: "We'll see. It's a really tricky situation and it's like this road is laden with obstacles for them.
"So we'll have to see."
Viewers also agree that it may not all be plain sailing, with fans left frustrated over the number of proposals that have taken place between the couple.
Fans have been led to question if the wedding is going ahead, with one saying: "So is it back on?"
Another commented: "Postponing? Marlon and Rhona's wedding is like a switch," while a third added: "So I guess we're going to go another round of who will ask who to get married again when it comes to Marlon and Rhona."
That's not all, as some viewers also think that maybe Marlon will not get to alter – if Rhona's mother Mary has anything to do with it.
"Rhona's mother was going to kill Marlon," said one fan, while a second added: "I'm getting Mary is going to start bullying Marlon vibes."
Possible Meena return
Meena Jutla wreaked havoc in the dales over the past year, after she murdered three residents – and was later sentenced in prison.
However, fans speculated at the time that Meena could escape just in time to continue her reign of terror for Emmerdale's 50th anniversary later this year – so could this coincide with Marlon and Rhona's wedding?
With the wedding perhaps taking place later this year, it seems that the upcoming nuptials could be at the centre of the 50th anniversary celebrations in October.
If Marlon and Rhona's wedding does feature in the 50th anniversary celebrations, it seems that the two could collide, with one fan saying earlier this year at Meena's sentencing: "Is her escape the plan for #Emmerdale50?"
A second added: "Please don't say she will pop up in October during the anniversary week by maybe escaping prison."
But if she does escape, will this be at the same time as Marlon and Rhona's wedding? And if so, will they both be targets? Viewers will have to wait and see.
