Television schedules have obviously been disrupted recently, as programmes were shifted to make way for coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, whose funeral took place yesterday.
As such, episodes of Emmerdale were popping up at unusual times and you may well have missed some. If so, here’s a handy guide to catch you up on everything you need to know.
Naomi charged with Nicola’s attack
After Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) recognised Naomi (Karene Peter)’s voice and shoes and realised she was one of the girls who attacked her, she went to the police only to be told that there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute her.
Nicola then took things into her own hands by threatening to end both Charles (Kevin Mathurin)’s and Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker)’s careers because of them harbouring a criminal.
Ethan (Emile John) then persuaded his sister to go to the police herself and tell them everything, knowing that Naomi wasn’t part of the attack itself but was more of a bystander. However the family were shaken when Naomi was later arrested for GBH.
With Nate (Jurell Carter) and Naomi rekindling their romance she has support from him and her family, but she’s terrified of possible retribution from the other gang members.
Sandra’s scheming hit Liv where it hurts
Sandra (Joanne Mitchell)’s plot against her daughter, Liv (Isobel Steele), ramped up by several notches. Her first line of attack was to try to get Vinny (Bradley Johnson) to question his relationship with his wife by highlighting her asexuality and the fact that sex wasn’t part of the marriage.
When this didn’t seem to be working, Sandra told her accomplice, Terry, that she would be shifting focus to attack Liv’s sobriety. In the Woolpack she switched Liv’s non-alcoholic cocktail for one containing alcohol and when Liv took a mouthful she was horrified, worrying that this would open the door to her alcoholism.
This caused some tension between Liv and Vinny as he called her out for not being honest about swallowing the alcohol and she was angry that he doubted her ability to stay sober.
Sandra then planned a trip abroad for her and Liv, tricking Vinny so that he wouldn’t be able to join them – and asking him to send money!
Faith’s health deteriorated
Faith (Sally Dexter) was heartbroken when Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) told her that it wasn’t safe for her to be alone with her grandchildren any longer.
This followed an escapade where Faith ‘borrowed’ a chameleon from the vets to amuse Sarah (Katie Hill) and Kyle (Huey Quinn), and a tearful Faith begged her children not to stop her making memories with her grandchildren.
More sadness was to come when Faith asked Cain to have lasting power over attorney so he could take care of her affairs when she was no longer capable. She also put in place a DNR.
As Faith and Cain went through these papers, Faith had an accident with the kettle and the shock of the pain made her lash out at Cain, in her confusion thinking he was Shadrach.
Mackenzie’s feeling guilty
After cheating on Charity (Emma Atkins) with a mystery woman, Mack (Lawrence Robb) has been feeling guilty. He braced himself to tell Charity the truth but bottled it, and instead the pair headed for the bedroom.
Later, Mack delighted Charity when he surprised her with a trip to Ibiza. But there’s trouble brewing, as the mystery woman keeps contacting him and although Mack has been trying to tell her to leave him alone it seems like it’s only a matter of time before his secret is revealed.
Kim discovered Jamie isn’t dead
We already knew this really, but now it’s been officially confirmed – Jamie Tate is alive and well, but he’s fled the country.
The news came after Kim (Claire King) got word that Hazel (Kate Anthony) had had an accident. When she got to the hospital Hazel told her that Jamie pushed her down the stairs, after keeping her and Millie (Willow Bell) virtual prisoners.
Kim reported Jamie to the police and was later told that he’d been seen getting on a ferry.
Kim tried to focus her attention on Millie, who struggled to settle in at Home Farm, especially when she overheard Kim talking about her dad in less than pleasant terms.
Millie ran away, and the police and the whole village turned out to search for her but she turned up alive and well at Wendy (Susan Cookson)’s, having gone to where she’d previously lived with her mum.
Now back at Home Farm, Millie is insisting on having her old room back, a room which is currently occupied by Clemmie (Mabel Addison). As Kim insists on Millie being her top priority, tensions are already simmering between her and Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Billy (Jay Kontzle).
Leyla returned from rehab
Despite warnings from Priya (Fiona Wade) and Jai (Chris Bisson) that living with a recovering addict was going to be difficult, Liam (Jonny McPherson) was looking forward to Leyla (Roxy Shahidi)’s return.
A couples therapy session at the clinic made him begin to face up to reality, and the following day Leyla came home. Since she got back it’s been very tense between them.
What else?
Jai and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and their kids are now all living happily together at Mulberry Cottage again.
Al (Michael Wildman) and Chas’s relationship has continued, and it seems that the two are falling for each other.
Marcus (Darcy Grey) has offered Noah (Jack Downham) a job as an apprentice electrician.
