Following the dramatic revelations that Caleb Milligan (William Ash) had returned to Emmerdale to pursue an agenda of revenge against Kim Tate (Claire King) for the death of his father Frank (Norman Bowler), it seemed that half the village suddenly had a motive for wanting him gone from the village forever.
And as Caleb walked on his own in a remote woodland location it looked like someone was ready to take the law into their own hands. A mystery attacker pushed Caleb and he tumbled from a height, hitting the ground and lying lifeless.
In upcoming episodes the various people who had a reason to wish harm on Caleb are all acting suspiciously.
There’s Leyla, who was angry that Caleb slept with Charity (Emma Atkins), and Mack (Lawrence Robb) who was furious for the same reason.
There’s Will (Dean Andrews), raging on Kim and Gabby (Rosie Bentham)’s behalf and booking a getaway to the Maldives for him and Kim that looks somewhat suspicious given the timing.

And of course there’s Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who’s fuming that Caleb – his own brother – would destroy Moira (Natalie J. Robb)’s business as part of his plan.
Cain made his feelings about Caleb plain on the day of the Dingle court, and even though he’s the one who finds Caleb and calls an ambulance after the fall, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is suspicious that he could have been the one who pushed their brother.
The police focus their attention on Mackenzie, whose alibi doesn’t add up and who was seen arguing violently with Caleb earlier.
But Chas knows her brother and can’t help thinking Cain is behaving in a guilty way. Worse still, he seems to be getting Zak (Steve Halliwell) to cover for him.
‘He says he’s been out walking the dog on Zak’s behalf, unbeknownst to the rest of the Dingles,’ Jeff Hordley told us.
‘But he’s not very forthcoming with the truth when they start to question him which makes it all seem very suspicious.’
