Emmerdale spoilers tease that Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas tie the knot in an almost drama-free wedding in tonight’s episode, 27 July.
The pair have been dating since mid-2019, and have had a few hurdles along the way including Jai’s recent adoption discovery but they finally make it down the aisle.
The day starts with Jai seeing Laurel in her wedding dress and is thrilled to be marrying her. But the special moment is dampened by the sudden arrival of Rishi and Georgia Sharma.
The family have been at odds since Jai discovered he’s adopted by Rishi. Georgia is his biological mother and had a one-night stand resulting in her pregnancy.
At the time she gave birth to Jai, she was good friends with Rishi who agreed to adopt him.
Rishi is fed up of being frozen out and Jai is left reeling when Rishi lashes out and reveals the identity of Jai’s biological father, but who is it?
Tensions continue to rise between the Sharmas until Rishi storms out of the house.
Jai assures his mum that he wants her at his wedding and after he calms down, decides he wants Rishi to be there too.
As guests gather at the church Georgia desperately tries to get hold of Rishi and get him to their son’s wedding. But the ceremony begins and Rishi is still nowhere to be seen.
Everyone in the church is pleased for the happy couple when Jai and Laurel exchange vows and are pronounced married. However, despite the joyous moment, Jai deeply regrets Rishi's absence on this important day.
Can the two make up? Or has Jai driven Rishi away for good?
Also in tonight’s episode Victor Anderson continues to manipulate his family leaving Claudette Anderson appalled when she discovers Charles Anderson lied about mending their rift.
Claudette confronts Charles who tentatively agrees to try and mend his relationship with Victor.
But Victor hasn’t been keen on bonding with his dad since he was released from prison after a 25 year sentence for armed robbery. And after opening up to Manpreet Sharma about the grim Anderson family history, it doesn’t seem like he’s willing to forgive and forget.
And Noah Dingle fears for Amelia Spencer when she heads off to work. It’s clear she’s struggling under the weight of the situation with her dad, Dan Spencer, and the fact he might be facing a prison sentence after his GBH charge.
