THE Anderson family has endured multiple painful moments in recent months with the latest being the death of Victor Anderson.
But while attending the Inside Soap Awards, one Emmerdale star announced a villainous twist for a member of the clan.
Things have been nothing short of harrowing for the Andersons as vicar Charles (portrayed by Kevin Mathurin) is spiralling, following the sudden death of his father Victor.
And according to actor Emile John, known as Charles' son Ethan on our screens, matters are due to go from bad to worse as his character will be straying from the straight and narrow.
As soap fans will have noticed, the solicitor has remained on the righteous path for most of his time in the ITV village, which began in 2021.
"He has a very strong moral code", Emile reminded during a chat with The Sun on Monday, September 25, 2023.

He added, "And perhaps, in the future we'll see him take on a bit more of an insidious role, see a lawyer go rogue."
But Ethan isn't the only member of his family taking after his treacherous grandfather Victor as Charles has also shown his dark side.
"I think it's been really nice to see", Emile went on about his on-screen father's character development.
"He plays a vicar, holier than thou, so it's nice to see a darker side of Charles."

Will Ethan be inspired by the men around him for his misdeeds?
Viewers will have to remain patient before they can find out, particularly as Emile admitted he won't be involved in October's Super Soap Week.
He continued: "I'd love to get involved in a Super Soap Week.

"All I really know is that my character is diverting from the path of righteousness.
"That's all I've been told. I'm not sure what's coming up at Christmas."
And when it comes to his love life and a new romantic interest after his shocking breakup with Marcus Dean, Ethan has "a few options" in the eponymous village.
"It's a small village, he'll take what's going", Emile quipped.
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
