Emmerdale is set for upcoming chilling scenes as Mary Goskirk is left for dead as her partner Faye's true nature is revealed in a sinister twist.
In upcoming scenes, although Mary's daughter Rhona is initially reluctant, Mary’s delighted when she offers her blessing for her big trip to Ecuador.
Later at the auction, Suzy Merton's mistrustful when Faye is cagey on a bank transfer for the auction fund and she tells Mary her suspicions.
However, Mary is left offended by the claims and instead sends a large donation through to Faye to double down on her commitment.
And things go from bad to worse the next day when Suzy offers Mary more evidence that Faye isn’t who she seems.
But Mary refuses to see the truth and instead shuts her down, desperately wanting to believe her dream is still intact.
However, later on, Mary tests the waters with Faye and notices that she starts to act coy over her finances….
Knowing she has been exposed, Faye coldly reveals her true nature and soon a kerfuffle ensues over an envelope of money.
To which Faye makes her escape and a bleeding Mary is left concussed and for dead on the floor…
Will Faye be caught and will Mary be okay?
It comes as Emmerdale boss, Jane Hudson, teased a "heartbreaking" twist for "vulnerable" Mary.
Speaking to press, including OK!, Jane said: "We've got a lovely love story playing on screen with Mary. We see Mary falling in love with Faye and it's her first relationship since coming out.
"She's been really vulnerable and she's really put herself out there and unfortunately it's not going to be a happy ending. Mary is going to have her heart broken.
"I think what's really relevant for this story is how easy it is to be scammed, how easy it is to be taken in, how easy it is for love to stop you thinking logically.
"I think it doesn't matter what age you are, we're all vulnerable to be tricked and to be scammed and to be catfished."
Jane added: "It's a really heartbreaking story and Louise [Jameson, who plays Mary] is just brilliant. She plays it so brilliantly.
"There's a lovely humour but then there's such sadness. I think you're all going to enjoy that story."
