ENDEAVOUR fans have been left devastated as the show confirmed the final ever episode has been filmed.
Programme makers shocked fans earlier this year when they made the announcement that the ITV series would be coming to an end.
The show has had a loyal and large fan base since its very first episode in 2012.
It's set in the 1960s/70s and follows the life of young Detective Chief Inspector Endeavour Morse – a prequel to Inspector Morse.
However, its Executive Producer Damien Timmer confirmed in May that the ninth series would be its last.
"Endeavour has been a real labour of love for all of us, and we salute Russell Lewis for his extraordinary achievement in chronicling Endeavour Morse’s coming of age across 72 hours of tv," he said in a statement.
He continued: "Russell always knew where he wanted the series to end, and that Remorseful Day is nearly upon us!
"We’d like to thank Shaun and Roger and all the other members of the Endeavour family on and off screen, and to the show’s fans both in the U.K. and abroad.
"Russell has many surprises up his sleeve for the final three films, with the return of some familiar faces and new challenges for Endeavour and Thursday to face before the final goodbye!"

And now the time has finally come as filming on the show has wrapped.
"And that's a wrap," said the official account on Twitter, while posting a photo of detectives Endeavour Morse and Fred Thursday (Roger Allam).
"All good things must come to an end. #Endeavour had its last filming day today, and after 10 amazing years there are still smiles on set!
"Thank you to our fantastic Endeavour family. Together we've made memories that will last a lifetime."
The news left fans heartbroken and they quickly took to the comments to express their sorrow.
"I feel good and sad at the same time," said one fan.
Another said: "So very sad…but a huge Thankyou to all of #TeamEndeavour for the years of outstanding work and great memories. We’ll miss you!"
