She portrayed Tanya Branning in BBC's EastEnders and Mandy Carter in Channel 4's Ackley Bridge.
Joyner has starred as Luella Shakespeare in the BBC crime drama series Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators since 2018.
She will be playing Laura Conroy, a successful lawyer with a loving husband and two children.
Joyner said in a Radio Times interview: "There is such a contradiction with the character of Laura, so focused and organised in her work life and yet chaotic and insecure with her home life.

Rachel Shenton
Rachel Shenton is playing Emily Furness.
She is known for her role as Mitzeee Minniver in Channel 4's soap opera Hollyoaks.
Shenton told Radio Times: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of For Her Sins.
"Jo Rogers has created such a dark and compelling story that has two women at its centre, I loved it and couldn’t put it down.
"I can’t wait to bring Emily to life – she’s wild."
Ansu Kabia
Ansu Kabia is best known for his role as Moses in the British detective series Miss Scarlet & the Duke.
He is playing Tom, a work colleague of Laura.
Duncan Pow
Duncan Pow plays Laura's husband Rob Conroy.
Pow is best known for playing Linden Cullen in Holby City and he starred in Star Wars spin-off Andor.
He said about his role to Radio Times: "Rob has an inferiority complex when it comes to Laura's career and Laura's relationship with people at work.
"Rob is backwards and forwards to the States trying to get more funding for his company.
"I think there was a lot of ego involved when it was decided how the family dynamic should work."
Romi Hyland-Rylands
Romi Hyland-Rylands played the daughter of main character Chris Carson in BBC drama The Responder.
She is Eliza Conroy, the eldest child from Laura and Rob.
Ann Mitchell
Ann Mitchell first rose to fame by playing Dolly Rawlins in the crime series Widows.
She is also known for playing Tanya Branning's mum Cora in EastEnders.
Mitchell is portraying Laura's mother Maggie.
When is For Her Sins on Channel 5?
The first episode of For Her Sins airs on Monday June 5, 2023, at 9pm on Channel 5.
