Huw Edwards discusses Queen as he hosts Scotland special

The BBC has extensively covered Queen Elizabeth II’s death, and the events leading up to the monarch’s funeral, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Prince Philip. The broadcast has since revealed it will be providing full coverage of The State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen across television, radio, iPlayer and BBC Sounds.
The coverage on BBC television will be led by news presenter Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young, Fergal Keane, David Dimbleby and Sophie Raworth.
Huw and Fergal will be covering events from London, while Kirsty and David will be reporting from Windsor.
Sophie will be at Parliament Square, Anita at the Long Walk at Windsor and JJ Chalmers will be at Wellington Barracks.
The special programme will be on air from 8am until 5pm on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer with BSL [British Sign Language] signed coverage provided on BBC Two.
For radio audiences, a special programme will be presented by Martha Kearney, who will also capture the key events in London and Windsor.
Allan Little will be inside Westminster Abbey, sharing analysis from Royal Correspondent Jonny Dymond.
Viewers will also hear commentary from different points along the procession route from several broadcasters including Ken Bruce, Mishal Husain, Emma Barnett, Clive Myrie and Adele Roberts.
John Murray, Mike Costello, Rachel Burden, Nuala McGovern, Chris Mason, Jamie Coomarasamy, Andrea Catherwood and James Naughtie will also be providing viewers with updates.
Presenter Eleanor Oldroyd will be inside St George’s Chapel, with commentary from different points along the procession route from BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty, Paddy O’Connell, Alistair Bruce-Ball, Julian Worricker, Anna Foster and Tony Livesey.
Viewers will be able to watch the special programme on BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Scotland between 9am and 1.30pm and 2.30pm and 5pm.
BBC Local Radio will join for further funeral coverage in a special programme which runs from 10am to 2pm across England.
BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3 will broadcast the State Funeral Service at 11am, and BBC Radio 3 will also broadcast the Committal Service at 4pm
Meanwhile, BBC World Service English will broadcast the Procession, the State Funeral Service and the Committal Service.
BBC Radio Ulster’s Talkback programme will air between 10.30am and 1.30pm, and will bring listeners in Northern Ireland live coverage of the State Funeral Service with commentary from presenter William Crawley.
Evening Extra will broadcast between 3pm and 6pm, and will provide coverage of the Committal Service.
Elsewhere, BBC Radio Cymru will see presenters Dewi Llwyd, Alun Thomas and Garry Owen reporting live coverage of the State Funeral Service between 10.15am and 1.15pm.
There will also be regular updates via extended bulletins during the afternoon before an extended Newyddion Radio Cymru presented by Dylan Jones, who will cover the Committal Service and reflect on the day’s events.
Cathy MacDonald will present live coverage of the State Funeral Service from 10am on BBC Radio nan Gaidheal.
The two-minute silence during the State Funeral Service will be observed across all live stations.
BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and BBC Radio 6 Music will reflect the events of the day in their news coverage, with amended schedules. Radio 1 Dance and Radio 1 Relax will be simulcasting Radio 1 on Monday.
