Gogglebox stars tear up over diver death
Gogglebox star Joe Baggs has opened up about the real reason his family decided to call it quits.
The Baggs family were a popular feature on the Channel 4 series for three seasons.
However, in May 2022, they announced they would be leaving the show after an “incredible” time.
The family was made up of Joe, his brother George and their parents Terry and Lisa.
They said at the time: “After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show.

“We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.
“With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series but are so grateful for the opportunity.
“Thank you for all of your support whilst we have been on the show and over on TikTok.
“We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!”
Now, Joe has shared the real reason the family decided to quit explaining they couldn’t do other things while on the show.

He told The Useless Hotline podcast: “We decided that there were things we wanted to do that we couldn’t do while we were on the show.
“There is a reason why there’s not many young people on there. It’s because we’re in this new age of social media that me and George love so much.”
Joe explained he was hoping Gogglebox would lead to more exciting opportunities.
“I couldn’t see myself just coming home every week and eating a takeaway and doing that for the rest of my life,” he said.
“There’s so much more I wanted to do, that’s why we ended up leaving.”
Gogglebox airs Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.
