ITV has announced that Gogglebox star Stephen Webb will be competing on the newest series of Dancing On Ice.
Webb was revealed to be a contestant in the upcoming edition of the competition on Lorraine Kelly's morning show on Tuesday (October 3). It comes following his revelation that he would be leaving the hit Channel 4 show after ten years on the sofa.
Speaking to Lorraine after he was announced to be taking part, he admitted he was "really excited and nervous" to be taking to the ice, but was eager to get at it. He added that he was ready to take on the other contestants, including boxer Ricky Hatton.

He added that he will have a masterclass with ice skating legends Torvill and Dean as he begins his training for the show which takes place in January. After his masterclass, he will start full-time training as he is introduced to his training partner.
Stephen admitted to Lorraine that the last time he was on the ice was when he was aged 13, nearly forty years ago. He admitted ahead of his reveal: "I have been back on the ice since just for a quick spin round – I didn't fall over, so that's good!".
When asked why he wanted to go on the show, Stephen said: "I think it's one of the biggest challenges on TV. It's a long job, five months of training and live shows, and I just wanted to get my teeth stuck into something different".
It comes just weeks after it was announced that Stephen would be leaving the Gogglebox family after ten years on the hit Channel 4 show. Stephen was one of the longest-running original cast members on the programme, which looks at the general public's reaction to TV shows aired during the week.
Stephen said about the show: "I think Gogglebox will go on forever and I thought I could be on it for another ten years and then I'll be 60. But I've been offered a few opportunities and I just thought, 'life's too short'".
Webb admitted he had spoken to former contestant and TOWIE star Joey Essex, who told him to go into the show with a "positive mental attitude". He also said that Stephen needs to mentally "go in to win", in order to last long in the competition.
Stephen now joins the likes of boxer Ricky Hatton, Olympic long jumper Greg Rutherford and Love Island winner Amber Davies. Webb was not holding back in the fighting talk, joking with the Scotswoman: "I'm ready to take Ricky on. I'll give him a spin round the ice!".
