Many fans were confused because viewers of the programme are used to watching the Bake Off on a Tuesday night – not a Sunday.
Clearing up any confusion that fans might have had, the Great British Bake Off Twitter account soon addressed the schedule shake-up.
The account took to Twitter four minutes into the show, writing: "Apologies to everyone who starts to think it's Tuesday night because new Bake Off is on.
"After extensive investigations we can confirm it is currently not Tuesday night.
"It is Sunday night. (Actually brb need to double check)."
The announcement came after Twitter lit up with confusion from fans, who were baffled that the show wasn't airing on Tuesday instead.
"I keep thinking it’s Tuesday with bake off being on tonight," penned one.
"Bake off being on a Sunday instead of a Tuesday has fully thrown me off what day of the week it is," added a second.
While a third went on to say: "I keep thinking it’s Tuesday with bake off being on tonight."
Tonight's installment of the SU2C special saw judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith judge a cohort of famous faces as they baked up a storm in the tent.
Fans watched on as the likes of David Schwimmer, Jesy Nelson, Rose Matafeo and Tom Davis stepped up to the oven to show off their baking and cooking skills.
