Meghan Markle and Prince Harry need to be more "careful" when making public statements, a royal expert has warned.
It comes after The Duchess of Sussex dropped several bombshells in her latest tell-all interview with US glossy magazine The Cut – including the claim that the N-word was used to describe her child.
Royal expert Jack Royston from NewsWeek appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (August 30) to discuss Meghan's latest sit-down interview.
He told ITV hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins that Meghan and Harry needed to be "careful" with their public statements and warned of potential dangers that could come to them if they didn't watch their words.
In her interview, Meghan said: "Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?
"You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game."
The royal pundit said: I think what Meghan's aiming for here is to say that social media trolls were calling her children the N-word, but that there's a porous relationship between those trolls and journalists who work for mainstream media outlets.

"She sees a kind of blurred line between trolls and mainstream media journalists."
He went on to explain that the duchess doesn't want to give photos of her child to "that kind of machine", but the pundit reckoned Meghan's words were "awkward" as she didn't put it in those terms.
He went on: "I do think Harry and Meghan need to be slightly careful about making sure that when they say things, they say them really clearly and unambiguously, because the difficulty is if people come away with the wrong impression, deliberate or not, they will start to feel that Harry and Meghan should be the most reliable source of information about them."
The royal commentator explained he was sticking up for Meghan and didn't want to see her torn down, and that the duchess was making a legitimate point as the media have been "horrible" to her in the past.
He later warned: "The slight danger for Harry and Meghan is that if they are perceived to be not the most reliable people narrating their own stories, then whether that produces a repetitional impact on them."
