I’m A Celebrity…South Africa: Newton’s cradle challenge
On Monday night, the new series of I’m A Celerity… South Africa kicked off with iconic campmates from seasons gone by returning to the show.
One of those was former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan who first appeared in the ITV series back in 2012.
In her season, the 32-year-old was voted by the public to do seven Bushtucker trials in a row, although she failed to bring back any food for her campmates as she was unable to face her fears.
However, now a decade later and the actress confessed she was determined to try harder in the trials this time around.
Although, it looked as though old habits quickly returned for Helen as she faced her first challenge alongside Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tufnell.
Individually, the celebrities had to jump from ball to ball while suspended 2,000 feet above the ground to try and earn a star for their food that night.
Slightly panicking after watching Fatima in the air, ITV viewers saw Helen get in a bit of a state as she was unsure she’d be able to complete the trial.
However, according to body language expert Darren Stanton, it seems as though her extreme reaction may not be completely genuine.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, he said: “Helen comes over like she’s struggling, but I believe that’s her way of diverting people’s attention

“I think she is still playing the damsel in distress card, but she definitely has some hidden depths to her.
“She could potentially be a candidate that really surprises everyone and makes it through to the final days.
“Over the course of the next few episodes, I think we will see the emergence of who Helen truly is – a strong woman who could go all the way to the end.”
Ahead of entering the camp last year, Helen admitted her mindset this time around will be completely different to what viewers will remember.
She said: “I have grown up a lot and I’ve had three children and I’ve gone through three labours!
“I won’t not finish the trials because my mindset will be very different this time around.”
“When I went into the jungle the first time, I didn’t prepare at all.
“I didn’t have a clue what I had let myself in for and I cried even when my phone got taken off me after landing in Australia. I want to make my children proud when I take part this time.”
I’m a Celebrity…South Africa continues weeknights on ITV from 9pm.
