Holly and Phillip sticking to script as they refuse to make eye contact

Holly and Phil open This Morning on Monday

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were seen together on This Morning following an alleged feud which has dominated headlines.

The co-stars have come under the spotlight after Phillip released a cryptic statement about a potential breakdown in their relationship.

Body language expert Adrianne Carter told Express.co.uk the pair were “firmly keeping to the script”.

She said: “There’s not much eye contact between the two of them. They’re firmly keeping to the script!

“By reading the script they don’t need to make eye contact, they can keep eyes forward or focussed on their guests.

“Holly seems less awkward, however she is revealing her discomfort with her body language.

“Hand wringing and not as bubbly as normal, but she is very professional.”

“Phillip seems more awkward and showing lots of tight lips and polite smiles,” she added.

The “tension” between the pair has not gone unnoticed by fans of the show who took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Danny Horne said: “I notice that Phil is constantly looking at @hollywills and smiling like everything is ok.

“She’s hardly looking at him and aiming everything at the guests. Tension. Knife. You know. #ThisMorning #Tension #PhillipSchofield #HollyWilloughby.”

Holly is yet to officially comment on Phillip’s statement but sources have said she was left “blindsided”.

Phillip released a statement to the press which read: “As I have said before, Holly is my rock.

“We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

“Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.”

This Morning airs on ITV on weekdays from 10am.
